AstroVPN Peers with PloxHost in NYC

This means that our users can now enjoy even faster and more secure internet connections. In addition to this, we are also proud to announce that we are now peering with our network partner PloxHost in their NYC facility. This allows us to further expand our reach and provide our users with even faster and more reliable internet connections. Our long-term partnership with PloxHost has been a valuable asset to our network and we are excited to take this next step in our partnership with them. We understand that the internet is constantly evolving and that is why we are always looking for ways to improve and expand our services. That's why in 2023, we have set a goal to expand our IPv6 coverage and peering members to provide our users with even faster and more reliable internet connections, no matter where they are located.
One of the key challenges in announcing IPv6 support for AstroVPN was finding a reliable and efficient way to handle the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) session, as well as obtaining the necessary prefix approvals. BGP is a core routing protocol used to distribute routing information across the internet, and it's crucial to ensure that the information is accurate and up-to-date. The process of obtaining prefix approvals is also essential to ensure that our users are able to access the internet securely and reliably.
To accomplish this, we turned to the open-source routing software "bird" on Linux. This software allowed us to easily configure and announce our IPv6 prefix to our network partners. With "bird" we could easily set up BGP sessions, filter and manipulate the routing information, and monitor the health of the network. This powerful tool enabled us to take a big step forward in the process of announcing IPv6 support in NYC. Using this software and working closely with our network partners, we were able to achieve a smooth and secure deployment of IPv6 support in our NYC VPN network. This new feature will allow our users to enjoy even faster and more secure internet connections, no matter where they are located.
