How do I set up AstroVPN?

Setting up OpenVPN to connect to AstroVPN's servers is easy and only requires a few simple steps.

  1. First, download and install the OpenVPN Connect app from the official website: https://openvpn.net/vpn-client/. OpenVPN is a widely trusted open-source VPN client supported by various operating systems.
  2. After installation, you will need to obtain the location files for AstroVPN. You can find these files in a .zip file that is provided with your credentials or in a hidden #downloads channel on our Discord server. If you need access to these files, don't hesitate to contact us.
  3. Once you have the location files, unzip them and import the desired location file into the OpenVPN app. For example, you might choose to import "US-SOUTH-TCP.ovpn".
  4. When you try to connect to a location for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your username and password. These will be provided to you after purchasing our service and may be sent to you via email or through a Discord ticket.
  5. The app may also ask for an external certificate. In this case, select "Do not show again for this profile" and "Continue" to proceed, as we do not require these for our service.
  6. Once you successfully connect to a server, your device is protected by AstroVPN's secure and encrypted connection. You can now browse the internet safely and securely, knowing that your data is protected from prying eyes.

If you have questions or need assistance setting up AstroVPN, don't hesitate to email us or join our Discord community at https://astrovpn.co/discord. Our team is always available to help. It's important to note that connecting to the same location from multiple devices will break the tunnel and cause issues. If you need a second set of credentials, don't hesitate to contact us.
